Licentiated in Orthodox Theology and Plastic Arts, "Al.I. Cuza" University, Iasi.
Impassioned with miniature of illuminated manuscripts.

In the course of his career, Dionis Spataru has exhibited in galleries, museums, festivals and fairs.
At the moment, he has illustrated more than 30 books from different areas (religion, poetry, fairy tales and books for kids.)

Awards

Dosoftei Award for bibliophilia, at Librex Book Fair, Iasi, 2015 for "The Gospel for children" (llustrations in collaboration with Gabriel Poenaru).
Honorable mention at International Board on Books for Young Adults, Moldova, 2015, for "The wood stories".
